Senior citizens are eligible for many special discounts only available to those 65 and older. Discounts for retirees can be found at most restaurants, hotels, and retailers, but there is one catch: they usually aren’t offered unless YOU ASK for them. 1. Get a Discount on Home Energy Improvements
Senior homeowners who have made energy-based improvements to their home are eligible to claim a tax credit. If your home is located in the U.S. and you file a tax return, ask your accountant about the Residential Energy Credit. This credit is available for up to a whopping 30% toward the cost of solar energy systems, residential wind turbines, or geothermal heat pumps. (Continue onto the next slide for more tips)
